Well, there is not much to tell…

24th: HOME ALONE. I had all the apartment to my myself. First I brewed myself a cup of coffee and had some facturas (biscuits, pastries) I bought at the bakery today.

 

At night I prepared dinner. It was quite tricky! The guy in the supermarket told me their European Squids (loligo vulgaris) are ready to cook when I asked him. Well, he was wrong! The operation took me one hour. Dissecting this dude was complicated ‘cos I didn’t want to injure the innards. And I had to figure out “how he worked”. ;)

This is the great guy, before the operation…

This is the complete main dish: filete de abadejo con coficita blanca sobre una cama de algas fritas, loligo vulgaris dormitando en frijoles fritos, todo con amore rojo (fillet of cod with pièce de resistance on a bed of fried cucumbers, European squid slumbering on fried beans, all accompanied with beloved tomatos)

 

And dessert: divinas empalagosas medialunas de duraznos (caramelized peach slices on a divine chocolate bed)

 

I ate from 2am to 5am, cleaned up and now I’ve got a date with my pillow. :)

 

I also bought a pan dulce (1kg) at Los Violetas which is supposed to be one of the best. Must be if we can trust the price. ;) This cake with dried fruits is an Argentinian tradition at Christmas.

Pics are coming later ‘cos I need to find/buy some new webspace :-/ I’m now (29.01.-18.02.2010) at the waterfalls of Iguazú and Brazil. Therefore the next reports on Uruguay and Brazil are hopefully coming when I’m back again. Sorry!

Weather here in Bs.As. is just too hot! It’s 2am and we still have 28°C. There will be 36°C tomorrow. Good that I’ll go to the Jungle where it’ll be 3°C less - but 90% of humidity :-S
