Squadron over Bs.As.

Today Bs.As. was surprised by a squadron. Due to the 200th anniversary of the Revolución de Mayo in 1810 eight ‘Alpha Jet Dassault-Dornier‘ of the ‘Armée de l’Air‘ accompanied by three Pampa jets of the Fuerza Aérea Argentina flew four times over the capital city. They started flying over Puerto Madero, then over Casa Rosada (= White House) at Avenida de Mayo and then flew along the Av. 9 de Julio with its Obelisco up to Aeroparque (small airport). The ‘Patrouille de France‘ “draw” the national colors of France and Argentina in the sky.
At that moment I was in my university enjoying my two-hour lunch time. The weather was just awesome, almost summer (22°C). I sat outside at the terrace in our inner courtyard when I heard some noise in the sky for the first time. Immediately the three Argentinian jets flew over us. Shortly after, they were followed by the eight French jets. Everybody on the streets stopped to watch this spectacle.

btw: the parents prefer to carry their babies instead of using a baby carriage. I guess they do so to get through traffic faster and therefore safely
Gift from Heaven

Yesterday, my flatmate and me went with some friends to Congo bar to have a drink or two before heading for a boliche. We sat outside. Then suddenly at the neighbor table I saw something falling from heaven. It almost hit the lady standing next to the table. She was shocked like hell. This big something “climbed” over the benches and “run” towards me. I was quite surprised! I picked it up so the others could see it as well. They were astonished. It was really huge! I haven’t seen one of them “in nature” yet. More than ever not that big! It was “hurt” at one side. We decided to eat it ‘cos it would go well with the beer. There was enough for everyone! It is well known for its fat content. Unfortunately we didn’t have any shrimps or something else. Nonetheless this mammoth avocado tasted good. 
Now I know how a avocado tree can look like and how dangerous they can be. 
After that adventure we went to the boliche Crobar. It was the most expensive discotheque I’ve been to here in Bs.As. (AR$ 50 = 9€). It was so overcrowded but the atmosphere was great as the ligth/laser shows. We decided to leave this location at 5.30am ‘cos they just played Electro…

At the end a “by-the-way”: in case there is no change at the ticket desk down at the subte, or the workers are striking, or the turnstiles are out of order, or there are too many people causing a traffic jam you get free passing

Hello Ingo,
My name is Anne Vliebergh, I am a 42 years old woman of Belgium and I have a request for you.
I’m reading with great pleasure your blog because I’m a big big big fan of Argentina. I had the luck
to spend 2 weeks in Buenos Aires in July, together with my friend, a lady of about my age too.We had the time of our live over there as we have a lots of friends over there and now we were able to meet
them in person. We have received so many enthousiastic reactions when we came home so that I decided to write
down a report of our trip. Afterwards I added some photos to my report…but the problem is that we don’t have
so many photos and we didn’t have such a great camera…so can I use some of the photos on your blog
in my report. Of course I’l mention your name and if you like I’l enumerate the pictures that are yours.For the moment, the report only exist in Dutch (I’m Flemish). I’m looking at a translater to put it in Spanish
because I have to spread it in Argentina also. I do speak a bit Spanish, but not enough to translate the whole
report. So, if I have the Spanish version, and if you like, I can give you a copy of my report in Spanish later on.I hope on a positive reaction !

Weather here in Bs.As. is just too hot! It’s 2am and we still have 28°C. There will be 36°C tomorrow. Good that I’ll go to the Jungle where it’ll be 3°C less - but 90% of humidity :-S
